Hike To Shivapuri National Park

Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park is the ninth national park in Nepal and was established in 2002. It is located in the country's mid-hills on the northern fringe of the Kathmandu Valley and named after Shivapuri Peak 2,732 m (8,963 ft) altitude. Enjoy the short eco-adventure hike to Shivapuri National Park. Visit the Budhanilkantha Temple on the way to the park, a protected forest that is home to more than five hundred native species of plants and animals. With your local guide in the lead, climb a combination of gentle stone steps and a walking trail to the peak of Shivapuri at 8,963 feet (2,732 meters) in elevation. Outline Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Budanilkantha Temple and drive to Shivapuri Nation Park | Hike uphill to Shivapuri | Enjoy the lunch and hike shortcut downhill and drive back to Hotel

A driver and guide from Tashi Delek Trek will pick you up from your hotel and will drive you to Budanilkhantha Temple. You'll get some time to explore this beautiful temple famous for the pond with a large statue of the reclining Vishnu. After that, you'll drive uphill to reach Shivapuri National Park. The hike will start from the stairs and stone paved trails taking you to the peak via Nagi Gumpa (Monastery). It is a steep uphill hike along narrow trails that gradually lead up to Shivapuri. Continue on to pass by the starting point of the Bagmati River, and your surroundings will summon you to rest and enjoy the beauty of the forest.
Finally, after reaching the peak, located at an altitude of 2,732 meters/8,963 feet you can witness the Langtang Mountain Range and enjoy lunch at the viewpoint. Stroll around for a short time before taking a shortcut downhill and returning to Kathmandu.
